Thank you to Krungthep Turakij for inviting me onto the Deep Talk program. We discussed recent AI incidents making headlines worldwide, and what organizations should learn from them.
The AI failures we see in the news more frequently are rarely caused by the model alone. Most stem from a lack of solid governance structures, from data quality and transparency all the way to review processes before a model goes live.
Organizations with strong Data and AI Governance can identify risks upstream, reducing the likelihood of incidents that harm users and damage organizational reputation.
Another interesting point is the direction many countries around the world are considering for future frontier AI regulation. This trend looks similar to how the world established organizations to oversee atomic energy after World War II.
Technologies with high potential for both benefit and risk tend to lead toward the creation of international governance mechanisms, built to set shared standards and prevent systemic risk.
It is a comparison that helps illustrate that governing frontier AI may not be just an organizational concern. It is a global agenda that requires cross-border cooperation.
Thanks again to Krungthep Turakij for this opportunity.
